project Overview

This project supports 500+ mothers and newborns in Garasbaley District, Banaadir, strengthening follow-up care and improving maternity spaces at Cawiye Health Center to help detect complications early and ensure care is delivered safely, privately, and with dignity.

Why that matters

Somalia has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world, and many complications occur in the days immediately after childbirth when follow-up care is often missed.

Strengthening early follow-up and community health coordination helps ensure mothers and newborns receive care when it matters most.
