The Akhri Mothers and Daughters Literacy project provides community-based literacy, numeracy, and digital skills training for women and girls in underserved communities across the Maroodi-Jeex region. Participants gain practical skills to read, manage finances, and use mobile technology - helping them earn income and support their families with dignity.

In communities around Hargeisa, many women and girls have limited access to education due to poverty, displacement, and early school dropout.
For women working as small market traders, illiteracy can mean losing income because they cannot track sales, calculate totals, or manage mobile money.
This initiative equips women with the practical skills needed to read, manage finances, and build more secure futures for their families.
